Default Timing belt and question

Hi guys,

What is the recommended interval of timing belt change on the D5252T engine?
Since the last change the car has been driven 40k miles.
I know that INA is the OEM supplier of tensioners but who is the belt supplier?

Following this thread as mine will be due on my 1999 V70 phase 1 TDI auto in a few thousand miles.

What options are there for locking the crankshaft on an Auto?

Colin

Can't help with the intervals because both Tdis that I've owned (including my current one) had new belts pulleys and tensioners before I bought them.

However, I was told both times that come replacement time you need to make sure that fuel pump is timed in properly using Volvo or Bosch's software.

Just something to be aware of as a local garage might be able to do the belts but may not know about the pump timing issue.

I believe 80,000 for cam belt and 40,000 for the pump belt.

This may only be true of later V/S70 TDi models with the 15.8 management system. It's been discussed elsewhere on the forum. It may be that earlier TDi models can be worked on more easily.

I know of four garages that can connect to my (2000 Classic) V70 to read codes, set timing and so on. The dealer (obviously!), a couple of Bosch specialists, and a well established independent. None of the national chains (Halford, Kwikfit and so on) have been able to read fault codes for me.
