the top view of the XC90 is not a line drawing like it used to be more like a photo

Volvo have enabled the 'new look' overnight but I wonder if it hasn't been made available to all.

I got a message on startup that I had 'early access' to the new look and could revert to the old design in App Settings. However you can't switch between the two designs at will - if you revert back to the old design you will not get the new look until it has been officially released.

Thanks for that reverted back to old design now I can charge the car. ATM they can stick the new look where the sun don't shine . Also maybe I should read the messages that pop up when opening

Volvo advised me if i have any problem with new app that they released I should restart/re-install the app but if this not helps that i need to contact dealership for solving that problem.

About early access design i really like it but today in the morning app refused to start engine and i decided go to old design as at least that was working fine for me for last fortnight.

I updated to iOS Volvo Cars app version 5.0.1 yesterday but didn't get the new interface. I've just closed and restarted the app now (by that I mean swiped up from the very bottom of the screen to access the app switcher and then flicked the app up to cause it to completely close), and this time I had to log in again and way then presented with the new version.

So far it seems like an update in form over function. It may look a little slicker (debatable), but I no longer have the option to remote start the car, only to start the remote climate. Given that remote climate on a B5 simply blows in fresh air at the ambient outside temperature, this isn't worth a lot to me. In addition, there is no info regarding the air cleaning status and no option to clean the cabin air, which I had previously.

I hope the option to remote start the engine comes back, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are sneaking this feature away, as it probably not the most environmentally acceptable feature this year.

After when I pressed climate start app was asking me if i want to start engine too. When pressed yes then engine has been started.

Today in the morning i tried again and app refuse to start engine.

Also when you press and hold on Volvo Cars icon it will pop up window that will allowed you to choose remote start.

I found the new user interface a bit long winded for remote starting so reverted back to the original interface via app settings.

Also, if I press and hold the Volvo Cars app icon on the homescreen, I only have the option to start parking climate.

press start on picture no 5 and app should ask you if you wish to start engine. (see picture) press start again and car should start.

Argh, I see, good spot! That is a feature super well hidden! So from what I can see if you have the timer set to 15 mins or less, it will give you.the option to start the car. If you have the timer > 15 minutes, it will go straight into start remote climate! Rather than giving you the ability to directly control what you want to do, they're directing you to use the appropriate feature to achieve the end goal. I'd much rather have the option laid out in front of me and make the decision myself.

I don't know why product designers do this, its changing things for the sake of changing things, not making the user experience any better. Really don't know what this new app is bringing at present.
