Default Transmission issues

Having transmission issues - can anyone help.

Xc90. On driving away in auto, the car looses power for a few seconds then resumes as normal. Today the gear stuck in 2nd. Had to be restarted which cleared the problem. Could this be the transmission?

Any help appreciated.

Have you got a flashing orange light on the dash when it does it? Could be an ABS fault, it can override the throttle if it thinks the car is in a skid.

Try disabling DSTC in the menu (or on button) to see if it makes any difference?

Not sure when last serviced as I haven't had the car long.

Agree with Carlosos. Try getting the codes read first via diagnostics to see if any fault codes come up.

As you have no record of the transmission being serviced, it might be worth getting that done. See what the fault codes are first (if any).

Whatever Vida says if you have no record of it being serviced then that’s going to be a starting point.

It’s cheap enough to do diy and hopefully will fix your ills. If it doesn’t cure it then at least you know it’s done and can move forward.
