Smile Sat Nav problem

Hi, Can anyone help, sorry it may be a little long winded.
Sat Nav on Volvo C70 D5 2007.

When i turn on the ignition and start the car the Sat Nav opens and says insert Disc, ( this problem has never happen before, sat nav has worked perfectly for last 9years )

To get it to close i have turn the Ignition off & on 2 times so that it shuts down otherwise there is a humming sound behind the dash and the Battery will be flat in the morning, been told its the CEM module under the glove box needs replacing at a cost £ 1500 inc remapping etc & fitting.

Also now the Rear window defog has packed up no light on the button.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

This is the Wanted Ads section for the C30/C70/S40/V50, you may get more responses if you post in the General section.

But while I'm here, first thing I'd check are the connections on the CEM, which is behind the glovebox. All sorts of electrical gremlins can result from poor CEM connections. The other thing that often causes odd electrical behaviour is a low battery.
