Default A/C problem...Too much condensation/Steam

My S40 has way too much conensation and steam coming out of it. Also the steam increases and mists up the windscreen when going round right hand bends. Also the rear right hand side foot well gets soaked with water.
I believe there is water in the system.
How and where does it drain and can it be easily unblocked it some way?
Many thanks
Ashus
PS I stupidly thought I had an S60 so this was originally posted in the wrong forum!

Hi, the scuttle beneath the windscreen will be full of water which, as you state, will come in through the heater air intake when you corner hard. If you look along the engine bay bulkhead you will see some drain tubes that have probably become blocked, try clearing them with a stick or similar, alternatively you could remove the trim panel from under from under the windscreen and clean the scuttle out from above. Another cause of your problems could be a leaking heater matrix, does the water in your foot well smell of anti freeze or is it just clean water?

Thanks for your reply. The water smells clean albeit a little musty after a few days.
The top vent spaces have been check already and are not blocked. So I think the problem is deeper in the system. What do you think?

Hello Ashus,

Your A/C drain might be disconnected, you'll have to pull out the carpet to check for sure.

Look here what this poor guy found to be the problem, it's evident in the first pic titled A/C drain>

Thanks for the pics. That certainly looks promising as the cause of the water in the rear passenger footwell, but is there a drain that far back? There doesn't seem to be any water in the front.
To tell you the truth I'm a little reluctant to pull out the interior trim and carpets as I'm afraid that I may break something or be unable to put them back neatly.

Is there some sort of guide how to lift the plastic trim and carpets roud the doors and indeed how to put it all back again?

By the way any more thoughts on why I get the excessive condensation from the vents particularly when cornering?

Many thanks to you all again
