Default Stop/Start Functionality Changed Today!

I have a 2020 XC40 Inscription Pro Auto.

I’ve used the car twice today and the first time the stop/start operated as it always has e.g. the engine starts when foot taken off brake pedal and if the engine did not stop, lifting your foot off the brake allowed the car to crawl forward. And pitting it into reverse, the car moves backwards slowly without needing to touch the accelerator.

Then the second time I went out in the car, everything was working differently! Start/stop still cut the engine when the brake is applied, but when I lifted my foot, nothing happened! The engine only started when I touched the accelerator. Plus the car held when I took my foot off the brake. When I put it in reverse, the car stayed stationary.

I did notice a message on the centre screen saying that new software had been downloaded while I was out in the car on the first occasion. Could that be the cause?

Before I call the dealer, has anyone else had a similar issue?

HI,
If you look in previous posts I also had S/S issues, all now resolved.
There's a setting that applies the brake when stationary automatically, then you press accelerator to restart and move.
I prefer this setting because you don't have to sit with your foot on the brake at lights etc. Think its the 'A' button next to the parking brake near the little waste bin.

Regards
Steve
