Default s60 proble, help plz

i bought a s60 d5 on a 02 several week ago and have discovered a problem im hoping someone on here may be able to help with ,, driving home yesterday it read 80 mile left in the tank but i could feel the car very slightly hanging back ,, then it cut out ,, after several attempts it restarted but went into limp mode and wouldnt go over 40 mph , managed to get it too a garage ,refueled and it was away like a rocket again ,, obviously something isnt right with how its reading how much fuel i have left in ,, can anyhelp tell me if you can reset the computer or any advice what is wrong and how to repair ,, i could simply keep more fuel in but its a long way out showing 80 mile left ,, and if it was out of fuel how come it started and ran even if it was in limp mode ,surely no fuel ,means no fuel and it should go at all ,, thanks for reading

Think you will get a better response if you post in the area of the forum for your age of car. This is the newer S60 part.

Ref your fuelling issue, I understand that if the fuel gauge on a modern Volvo is faulty, say reading low, or empty, even though the tank may be full, the car 'thinks' its empty and stops.

It could be something to do with this, although from what I have read this has been the odd issue on 10/11/12 plate Volvos

Regards

Edit: ......think this link is the part of the forum you need to be posting in
