Interesting. (As a complete non-expert) the only thing i can think of is that your expansion valve might be blocked, allowing the compressor to build up pressure without it being released in the evaporator, thus no cooling in the car.

Short update on my situation: I still have cold air in the car, let's see if it lasts. I haven't bothered yet to read out the pressure in the system yet, so I have no idea if I'm currenlty loosing refrigerant or not. In any case, if I am loosing refrigerant, it's pretty slowly.

I might be looking in the wrong place but I can only find AC relay status and system pressure. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take it to somebody who understands AC because I don't LOL

3 months later and I still have cold air. Looks like my system really just needed a top-off.
