I remember that I read a thread a while ago that Pro models on an XC90 not having all Pro features. Remember leather dash and lights being some of those. Check the forum or Google the thread.
If correct, it was when they started doing Pro models the spec wasn’t as good as what they then became, hence some early Pro models were basically RDesign with minor additions and not worth the extra. Anyone remover reading these articles previously? Possibly contact Volvo Uk, give them the chassis number and they can confirm the model year and ask for the correct specification and pricelist for that vehicle. Then compare to a later version with standard Pro features. Last edited by amdvol; Dec 5th, 2022 at 19:43. |

All Pro's had bigger than 18's from the factory, granted if it's not a Pro then someone could've added them later, anyhooo there's an even better way to tell, does the seat have 3 electric adjusters on it or just 2, only the Pro has 3 the rear most one is a blank and you have to wind the seat back with a knob for the upright adjustments.
Also there was a lot of spec change between 18's and 68 plate cars, on the Inscription the ext seat fronts were an option until later in the year so it's possible the fella has a launch spec car rather than an upgraded one. Last edited by SnineT; Dec 5th, 2022 at 20:39. |

Thanks all
Thanks everyone for your replys definately food for thought on it all.
From all the posts I think I have a R-Design with some extras (winter pack, family pack) only 18' wheels, no tailored dash or door tops, no bending lights etc. A bit dissappointed having finally confirmed this but still happy with the car, maybe this also explains why I got such a great deal on the price for its age and mileage I dont think I will ever get to the bottom of it being registered as a RD Pro Again thanks for your comments |

I don't think you're missing much with the lack of "bendy lights" the system on my other half's Lexus is excellent - unintrusive and only seems to steer the beam with major steering inputs to help you see round sharp bends - the Volvo system is annoying, small steering wheel inputs steer the headlights immediately so when you're driving in town you see the beams constantly correcting ahead of you as you thread your way down narrow streets - it's distracting and annoying - I turned my system off.

The other half's Lexus is an okay car - boring but metronomically reliable. The CVT isn't at all intrusive as the car has enough torque to mean you're not really revving much in normal driving, I agree CVTs on smaller-engined cars are horrible. But one thing to say about RX CVTs they are bullet-proof. I believe there is a 7 seater RX now but it's not fast enough, if I didn't need a seven seater I would have kept my lovely supercharged V8 Range Rover. The XC90 is a perfectly decent car, but for the price it's not refined enough, it's not particularly well built and doesn't have a reputation for reliability. It is fast and efficient - easily it's best points rather ruined 2019 onwards by the 112mph limiter. |
