Hello all. I have very same problem on my V60 CC MHEV. Driver's wiper (with aqua-blade, non-heated) leaving water behind on the downstroke. I find this very distracting and outright dangerous. Wonder what to do. Could it be substandard Valeo brand? (There seems to be no alternative) Or is it just insufficient pressure from the wiper's arm?
BTW, today (rainy weather) I changed the rubber other way around, but it did not seem to have resolved the issue. I suspect the wiper's arm pressure is insufficient. |

yep, same problem with my XC60 MHEV.....cured 100% with Valeo blades !
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0862RJM...roduct_details NOT CHEAP ....but possibly cheaper than Volvo ones.....and certainly better! cheaper here https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/valeo...a303-485660335 Last edited by davidwf15; Nov 14th, 2023 at 17:01. |

I had sorted this issue with Bosch wiper blade refill rubber
Guess how I sorted this smearing water problem. I bought the rubber refill from www.wiper-blades-refills.co.uk. The only option for my V60 CC was the Bosch Aerotwins refill (though Volvo vipers are now reportedly produced by Valeo), which is somewhat 1 mm wider and the whole rubber appears and feels stronger and bulkier. But with a bit effort and either water or WD silicone lubricant spray I was able to fit this rubber into the blade. It worked a miracle and I had truly tested it last night in a pouring rain and today during the day. It wipes all water no less that perfectly.
So I just dont understand (or maybe I do), why dont companies promote that instead replacing whole wipers (wiper frames should really last years), only rubbers (that do get worn and deteriorate even if there is no obvious damage that can be seen by naked eye) are replaced. Instead of buying new Valeo Silencio Aquablade wipers for my V60, that costs nearly £70, I paid 5.50 for the rubber. Mind you, I read that Valeo rubbers are rubber+silicone, which actually ware of faster that rubber-only wipers. What I will do next is that I will buy Bosch Aerotwins JET blade (A009J) when available (currently out of stock in every shop, for some reason), so the rubber will fit into it properly. |

I have now "moved on" to a 2023MY XC60....and guess what....SAME PROBLEM
Dealer says thats how they are, I bought Valeo from Amazon "used, like new" which of course were not used, merely in a damaged box for under £40 and they are again perfect do your blades have the holes along their length for the washers...the XC60 ones do |

UPDATE: SORTED. I had successfully bought Bosch Aerotwins JET blade (A009J) (though they are 'out of stock' on most websites at the moment) and the wiping performance is just perfect. The profile of the wiping rubber is a bit different (larger) comparing to the original 'VOLVO' (made by VALEO?) wipers. From now, I will just be buying rubber refills (approx. only £5 each, or less if bought in bulk!) |
