Mike Gilbert.
HI MIKE, NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU. MY P1800s IS CURRENTLY RED, I'M LEAD TO BELIEVE CHERRY RED, LOOKING THROUGH THE HAND WRITTEN HISTORY GIVEN TO ME BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I ORIGINALLY WAS LOOKING FOR A WHITE P18OOs, BUT THIS ONE CAME UP AS A BARGAIN, BUT WAS IN NEED OF RESTORATION. IT'S NOW READY FOR SPRAYING SO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO DO A COLOUR CHANGE. DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE UNWISE TO CHANGE TO WHITE? THE CLASSIC CAR SPRAYER THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA FOR A COLOUR CHANGE AS THE PAINT WORK AT THE MOMENT IS VERY DULL, AND DOESN'T DO THE CAR ANY JUSTICE

P1800s only look good in white if your name is Simon Templar My favorite colour for them is dark grey, with a red interior

Like I said its your car Mick and with red being quite common one less won't make as much difference as if it was a rarity like Pale Green, Smoke Grey or Sand Yellow.
Pearl White with black interior does look sharp and white has the advantage of masking body imperfections better than a dark colour - assuming there will be any. Having said that I will provoke controversy by enlarging on 222s comment that people painting them white so they can play at being Simon Templar is pretty naff IMHO. So many people only want a white one and I suspect the majority are more interested in posing than genuinely love the cars themselves, otherwise they would be more flexible in their outlook. Have a look at the original colours available for the year of your car before making a decision. But if the bodywork isn't going to be perfect choose a pale colour and if white is the best of the bunch so be it. |

check out the purple 1800 on one of the other posts, then ask yourself whether or not you are man enough to try something like that.
If you are that daring don't forget to repaint the interior metal, trunk and engine compartment if you change colors. May want to re-upolster too. Tires can stay black. |
