Default S90 2019 Whistle Sound

S90 2019 T4 R design Automatic

Car makes a sort of whistle sound in park and especially 1st gear. The sound seems to go away in higher gears. Video attached. Is this normal? It sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Video attached through link

Sometimes a sign of low transmission fluid, have you checked the engine bay area for any leaks or underneath on the ground where it's parked?
To satisfy curiosity probably worth visiting a Volvo mechanic even if no warning lights in cockpit.

Volvo have said the sound is normal and are charging me £200 for looking into it. I’m pretty annoyed….it doesn’t sound normal to me.

What are you annoyed about? Your car hasn't got a problem.

Its one of those sounds once you hear it, that’s all you hear. That’s annoying but i can live with it.

Also just because a sound isn’t a mechanical failure it doesn’t mean it’s not an issue. Its part of the driving experience and something we hear constantly.

You could try another dealer for a second opinion but it’ll probably cost another £200 or so.

Only other thing I guess is to try and drive another S90 T4 R-Design and see if it sounds the same.
