I feel sure there should be a way to adjust the fitting of the projector in the top of the dash so that it projects a little higher.
If anyone with a HUD wants to try, let us know

I don't have one in my current XC90, but in the S60, it's either swipe right on Sensus and hit the HUD button and in there. Or in settings (pull down menu from top of screen) and there's a HUD option in there somewhere under Displays or similar. Eventually, it uses the left/right/up/down controls on your steering wheel to move it around as I remember (I think!).

Anyone find the HUD not that clear at night?
I have it on the brightest setting and have cleaned it. Maybe it is suppose to dim. |

I'm sure it would only require a minor adjustment of one or two mm to the projector.

This thread seems to suggest that there is adjustment, with St Evelyn commenting that: "I have my seat set as low as possible and reclined a little. As I'm 6' 5.5" with a long back, this leaves my head just shy of the rooflining - and I've no sunroof, so you'd struggle to get your eyes much higher. For whatever reason I have no issues with the HUD, instead finding that I can adjust it to the perfect viewing height." Don't know if he's doing something you're not ? (Edit: I see you've actually commented in that thread ) Last edited by Rocinante; Apr 26th, 2021 at 13:16. |

We've had heated windscreens in cars previously and thought them a godsend in the winter time. However, since we can pre-condition the XC60, I see less of a need for it and have HUD on ours.
You can switch off the HUD if it bothers you, you can't strip out the windscreen elements if they bother you. |
