BUT
1 year after changing my oil, the torque converter started slipping. And the car only has 137000 kms (85000 miles). I question whether it would have started slipping with old oil containing soluble friction material in it? I am stealing myself for a horrendous repair bill in the thousands....

Who knows, unfortunate yes, but down to the oil change, I would certainly doubt it particularly after a year.

Sorry guys just a re post to the above.
1. Do you guys know the correct oil for a 2010 xc90 6 speed auto? I have pulled some data from a service portal and I believe I need JWS3309 which is the form of volvo 31256774. Only reason I ask is that some one mentioned there was a fluid type swap at a certain year? Could any one confirm? If it is JWS3309 then the link here to the Toyota stuff seems good value considering I would need around 14ltrs. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F302044203216 2. Again looking at Gibbons method to be honest, any one know where I can get a kit from in the uk OR know the size of hose I need for the cooler etc? |

I am really struggling to find this OD 9/16" pipe on the internet?? Closest I can find is 14mm OD and I think 9/16th is 14.28mm?? Also there was another guide stating you need 5/8 internal pipe for the nipple on the cooler? Is it a Male or female connection on our coolers? Last edited by cpu_man; Oct 15th, 2019 at 18:41. |

I've just measured the pipe I used. It's 15mm O/D.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clear-PVC...VaPXIkYiqvtS0w It is the O/D that counts, as you just push it into the outlet of the cooler and the outer edges make the seal. You should also get a short (5cm) length of garden hose to use as an adapter on the end of the return hose (that you removed from the cooler) to fit a funnel. Use this to add fluid.
