Thanks again Clan. I didn't manage to find that rubber grommet so I've just taped up the hole. I'll check the brake pedal later. I'm guessing my only cure is a replacement servo unit?

I see there are several components......not sure which I'd need? Is this a DIY job do you think?

yes a very good chance it will be fine I have changed or hear about just 4 leaky servos since the 1970's ...

Hi guys. Just wanted to post a final update. I bought a used servo unit on eBay £75 delivered ( from Lithuania including master cylinder and reservoir). On my XC90 2003 you have to drop the engine down to get the units swapped over and I had to take the master cylinder off. I had to borrow my mate's pressure bleeding kit too to bleed the system properly. But all is well and thanks again to Clan. This is a great forum full of knowledgeable, experienced people.
