140's
It was these that got me into Volvo's many moons ago...
Father had a '73 144 in yellow then a 145E with the injection reg UUP116N from memory, don't know where it is now but it use to fly and pull the Safari caravan with ease Have fun and enjoy yours

Hi,
I'll take some better resolution of the car and post them, but it won't be for a week or so due to work. I'll blog it in some way as it sems to have all the usual types of rust / faults so may prove usefull for someone as a reference of what to look for. its going to have to be a rolling resteration , I can't afford anything else :-) and I want to keep it on the road it's booked in on Tue for a check of the underside and assuming thats OK I'll start with the rear wheel arches, I'm hoping the Sills will be OK anybody want to give some ball park figures of what would be resnable price to pay to have wheelarches replaced also , any recomendations / suggestions as to where I can source body pannels from thanks Simon |

I believe that the seats are the same as a 164, but an original fitment on the GL.
When getting quotes, make certain that they will cut out all rust as part of the job. I've seen plenty of 140/164s where the new arches are welded on over the top of the rusty ones - which, of course, just accelerates the rusting. I really like the GL, good luck with it and keep us posted. John |
