T4 Tuning?

Hi all,
Just considering buying a T4 and was wondering what the tuning potential of them is? whats the gearbox reliability like? intercooling setup? what boost do they run standard? just the usual stuff really.
I currently have a 1900 Escort RS Turbo which is awesome to say the least and will decimate anything up to 280bhp (tested, not fiction!) but alas it is only an old ford and i would like somwthing a bit newer and better specced aswell as a bit of grunt, but it will need "breathing" on a bit before i'm happy to swap from the old escort! dont worry i aint gonna max power it up with naff body kits and dodgy neon wiper jet thingy's, i'm just after a bit of extra power with some comfort (maybe 300 ish bhp) any help or phone numbers of good experienced volvo tuners would be great.

In that case, why not go for the T5 and have done with it?
