Default Service light

Hi all . I've managed to reset my service light in my 1999 v40 2.0T
It may not be a method which works for others but the other methods listed here and elsewhere failed for me.

Ok

Turn on ignition and fire up engine .
Push the odometer button for 10 seconds .
You will hear a beep.
Release button.
All done !!

Talking Help we need a sticky or link for service lights

Phase 1 and 2 have different methods of turning off the service light. I don't think there are any other differences.
P2 method:
1/ Ignition to first position
2/ Push in and hold odometer button
3/ Turn ignition to position 2
4/ Hold the OD button in until the SERVICE message flashes, then release and shout, "Eureka!", for you will then have a fully serviced car, according one dubious used car sales person.

I will try the OP method next time, just in case it works on the P2 V40.

PS: My Twingo does not have a service light, which is why the previous owner told the dealer they sold it to, that it did not need servicing cos there was no warning light!
