What do you get on the screen when you choose DAB as the option? If you get "No Reception" then simply you are in an area without coverage - very common

I had this problem and the sales guy said no reception. However if you press ok and ok on ensemble learn it came on with reception on all channels.

Be aware that no reception often refers to a chosen station rather than dab in general. DAB is just like FM in having geographical limits to broadcast for some stations. So if I tune to Clyde 1 in Glasgow and head south, DAB will eventually show no reception the further I get. But if I go to search for a station (from memory, turn the tune dial) then up pops the list of available stations at that point. So if your car was tuned to any station not available where you now are it will resolutely show no reception until you retune.

Hope that's all that's wrong with yours!

The key here is Ensemble Learn...

I had this problem when I collected my car and the dealer talked me through the solution. I can't remember the detail now but I have just looked up the issue in Volvo's Infotainment manual and the following may help...

Storage of channel groups (Ensemble learn) for digital radio (DAB).
When the vehicle is moved to a new broad- casting area, programming of existing chan- nel groups in the area may be necessary.
Programming of channel groups creates an updated list of all available channel groups. The list is not updated automatically.
Programming is carried out in the menu sys- tem in DAB mode under DAB menu
Ensemble learn. Programming can also take place as follows:
1. Turn TUNE one step in either direction.
> Ensemble learn is shown in the list of
available channel groups.
2. Press OK/MENU.
> New programming is started.
Programming can be cancelled with EXIT. Related information
• Digital radio* (DAB) (p. 40)
• Navigation in channel group list (Ensem- ble) (p. 41)
Navigation in channel group list (Ensemble)
Navigation in the channel group list (Ensem- ble) for digital radio (DAB).
To navigate in and access the channel group list turn TUNE. The name of the Ensemble is shown in the upper part of the display screen. When switching to the new Ensemble the name changes to the new one.
• Service - Shows channels irrespective of the channel group to which they are allo- cated. The list can also be filtered using the selection of programme type (PTY filtering), see Radio programme types (PTY) (p. 37).
.......

Hope this helps...

Why, the reception is so much better and clearer than FM? We need it to cover the entire country not get rid of it.

More moderate response!!!!

There are stations on AM that do sound better on DAB, but most on FM are technically inferior and reception is patchy.

There are a few stations that are only on DAB which is an advantage but many are blessed with irritating adverts. DAB seems to be an answer to a question that doesn't exist.

So until FM is killed which hopefully will be when I'm in the oven it's analogue for me..........

Oh! And I still, listen to vinyl too........

But I could be totally wrong.......

Long live AM.
I can get several BBC stations whilst driving to destinations like Italy.
FM, nothing.
