Clutch problem, advice please?
My 2002 s40 was getting difficult to get into fifth gear and the gearlever was a bit wobbly. So I had the bushes in the linkage replaced and everything was fine for 3000 miles or so.
Then it started getting difficult to get into fifth again and when I checked the master cylinder the fluid was quite dark and dirty. So I had the garage replace the slave cylinder and flush out the old fluid and all was well for 200 miles or so. But now it is very hard to select first gear and most times I have to either select second, let the clutch out slightly and then move into first or just move off in second gear. Can anyone suggest what is wrong now? Does the clutch need bled again or do I need a new clutch? Or is something else wrong? Thanks.

If it's the Renault gearbox (reverse gear will be top left), then this sounds like either the primary shaft nut or secondary shaft bolt has come loose inside the gearbox. Very common on these, but not the end of the world. Here's an old link:
