Tbf Volvos speed limit sign recognition is so poor it thinks you’re in a 30 when it sees the upcoming 30 warnings. The OP may have been going into a 30 assuming it’s a “real picture”.

Thankfully they’ve not yet got auto speed limiting enforced. Otherwise I’m never driving past the builders merchant down the road - Volvo seems to think I’m doing 35 mpg over the 5mph speed limit!

I have no idea what that little lollipop symbol is. I took a trip out this evening and engaged the speed limiter function and didn’t see it, even with an upcoming speed camera.

Having the speed limiter in operation gives a more obvious display on the outside of the speed dial, so it’s not engaged in the photo in the first post. All of the pilot modes have obvious indications when they’re enabled, so I can only think this is one of the traffic sign modes. I’m buggered is I know what it is though.

The Speed Sign Assist needs to be enabled in the car functions screen, then when you use the Speed Limiter the lollipop symbol pops up.

Yes, this is how I have it set up, I always have the speed sign assist on. I turned on Speed Limiter and saw the graphic on the outside of the speed dial.

I didn't at any point see the lollipop, even when there was an upcoming speed camera. I also don't see any mention of this symbol in the manual.

Strange, when I activate this the lollipop appears in the display. Do you not have this button?

Attachment 135349
Ah. So this is the Automatic Speed Limiter function which is supplemental to the Speed Limiter function

I reasoned that I want control over acceleration/braking so I didn't enable this feature.

I understand now, thanks.

There's a thin piece of clear plastic in front of the dials. The vent here helps prevent that being fogged in cold conditions.
