Is there any positive news at all on the re-engineered hose at all or are they blowing as well?
See my post of 16 March above. The current hose seems to be OK.

So ... Powerpulse is all fine, pressures etc within VIDA all as they should be. So all very confusing. 3 weeks ago a sound like a tyre bursting followed by hissing like air escaping - had just pulled into a lay-by up on the Ridgeway with window open, no other vehicle around up there, no wind blowing and was doing no more than 3mph so heard quite clearly. Anyone got any thoughts on what else it could be? No idea how the Powerpulse charge is generated - is there some form of wastegate/pressure relief valve to vent excess?

Car still in dealership and they'll have another dig around in the morning - their 'master tech' will be on it 1st thing before we call it quits and collectively wonder whats going on. With an impending knee op next week not going to be able to drive for a few weeks anyway so maybe I'll just forget about it!

Does your car have air suspension by any chance?

The air suspension on my XC60 B5 makes a short 'pffft' sound of air escaping in certain circumstances, including a little while after the engine has been turned off. I was thinking that could be the sound you heard?

Did Volvo find anything amiss yesterday?

No nothing found after what they say was 5 hours investigation - PP system working perfectly apparently with no leaks. Obviously that's good but also bad in that I now have no clue what the source of the sound was. It was definitely not the air suspension noise - was a pop like a balloon bursting following by a long hiss of escaping air (no I didn't run over anything, I checked!). Got us all stumped a bit.

On a totally different topic they did however see fit to completely screw the tyre pressures - claimed they'd all been set to 38psi as part of their service schedule but in increasing order they were actually (checked today after they'd cooled) 38, 39, 41, 42! Like driving around on rock wheels - and of course they hadn't reset TPMS so I got a warning 800yds from the dealership. I've reset them now back to my normal much more sensible and comfortable pressures. Give me strength..

We had a loud bang and a hissing noise on ours after about 6 months and never found out what it was until a year and half later they said the PowerPulse hose had gone so can only presume that is what it was but funny they didn’t pick it up on the 1st service.

Thats the kind of thing I'm worried about but tbh I strongly suspect I won't have the car long enough to find out

Hi, PP hose blew the end off today (up top of engine so can easily be seen) - I heard it and thanks to this forum suspected the PP hose immediately. Car is a 2018 XC90 with 15k miles and full Volvo SH (last serviced in March this year) but not got extended warranty.
Few questions pls;
Is it likely I can get this covered either wholly or partly by Volvo and if so how do I go about it?
If I cant anyone any idea of cost of a new hose + fitting?
We are 200 miles away from home on holiday with our 2000kg caravan (although not towing when hose went) so guess best try local dealer down here tomorrow to see what they say.
Dare I tow the caravan home with the hose gone?

Appreciate your thoughts please.
