V60 D5/D6 hybrid with 81K on the clock, battery gives me between 24 and 27 miles so very little if any degradation. I am really happy with mine, comfortable to drive, excellent motorway cruiser, although I too will be selling it soon. I have not heard of any Volvo's with significant battery issues so I wouldn't be concerned on that score.

I don't find the maintenance costs any more than my previous vehicle (Audi A4 estate).

I am no longer commuting and it just isn't being driven enough to justify it. We already have two other cars, a Leaf which we use for general running around - was my wifes commuting car but she is now working from home full time like me, and a Discovery 3 which we use when we go away with our two children as we need the space, and for towing heavy trailers. If I ever go back to having a significant 5 day a week commute I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

I'm now commuting 350miles a week a potential option could be as per title.

Therefore seeking some advice on running one please.

TIA
Dont do it stick with the D5 as said, the miles you are doing is what they were made for.

An unrelated (but sort of related) question to the owners of D6 and D5 Twin Engine models.

Am I correct in thinking the rear wheels are only driven by an electric motor? So the car loses its AWD ability if the batteries are flat?

Also do the batteries charge on the move?

Thanks

yes the electric motor drives the rear wheels ,
The battery will not be flat very often as it will charge on the move through regeneration and also it will charge when you are driving due to the High voltage 3 phase AC generator/Starter , there are many configurations in the menu ...

The diesel engine can power the electric motor even if the traction battery is flat. Thus AWD is always available albeit not very economical.
Also do the batteries charge on the move?

Thanks
The diesel engine can power the electric motor even when the traction battery is depleted so AWD is always available albeit not particularly economical.
