Default B5252s flash code reader build

Hi all,

Wanted to hear from anyone that has successfully built a flash code reader for a b5252s v70 1998 with the Fenix system.

I have bought

12 v led
Momentary switch
Male obd2 plug to solder to

I have seen conflicting advice so would appreciate anyone confirming which pins I am soldering to here.

Have seen 5, 6 and 16 but have also seen some saying pin 3

Thanks in advance

Thanks 4x4, did you not manage to pull your error code and then clear them after fixing as others have done?

It was a few years ago so can't remember but I think there was one historic code stored which I cleared, never checked it since as everything seems to be working as it should. If it ain't broken then don't fix it...

If yours isn't working try placing the dipper wire (yellow in my diagram) onto different pins and see if you get any readings from them

I made mine according to this how-to:
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=83897

Works on my 10v 850...

Pin 3 is for reading codes from the engine control unit, other pins are used to interrogate other parts of the car depending on spec...

Put red to 16 and black or yellow to 5, the bulb should light up even with ignition off.
To check for codes, put red to 16 and black to 3, and with ignition on, put yellow into 5 for two seconds, then pull it out... It should then blink the codes out.

Hi

Have built this tool tonight thanks for all help.

The two codes I have been given by it are:

122
243

I have noticed also that the auto transmission arrow warning light has started flashing and the lights on the standard, eco and winter modes buttons are flashing like indicators.

Any help appreciated on next steps!
