Possible new V60 Plus Recharge purchase
I'm considering purchasing the above vehicle, but have a question re the seats, which have front extensions. I have ran V70 since 1995, and have found the seats VERY comfortable. However, my current 2015 V70 has the least comfortable seat of any Volvo I have owned. Not uncomfortable per say, just not as comfortable as the previous V70's. The new V60 with seat extenders is even less comfortable, especially when the seat extender is extended. I feel like I'm sitting on a hole. Am I being picky, or is there really a problem? I have read threads here that extenders have been an issue in the past, but I thought it would have been resolved..perhaps not.

I don’t know what the new cars are like but we find our 2018 Inscription Pro seats not comfortable and sit on some gel cushions which helps but not very good for a £50,000 car. I know a lot of people find them very comfortable but there are also a fair few that don’t and as you say with the seat extension out there is a horrible gap there.

I agree, I was expecting supreme comfort with all the hype about Volvo seats, the extending cushions you can feel the join, I'd rather not have them. Fair enough lots of adjustments but the main part you sit on is not right, much prefer Lexus seats and ride comfort.

I found the extenders a little uncomfortable in my R-Design S90 at first, but I've either gotten used to it or they've worn in a bit.
Easily the most comfortable car seats of any car I've owned IMHO.

Coming from Ford with very shallow seats the v60 is wonderful. You can put the seat anywhere you need the extra length from extenders is amazing for me. Yes the padding is a little low but take time to get it right and definitely one of the best seats out there. I did look at gel pads before I picked up the car but not needed for me.

decided to bit the bullet....
Despite the reservation of the seat gap I've ordered a V60 hybrid following a test drive. I kept the seat retracted and was comfortable. Gone for bright rather than dark and was forced to take the std seats rather than the sports seats as that would mean taking a black headlining, and that with the black leather made the interior too dark. Time will tell if I've jumped the right way.
Must say colour choice was pants, forced to go Silver yet again 4th lime now. Cheers Bob |

I think standard seats are far more comfortable than sports seats. Just like higher profile tyres are more comfortable than more 'sporty' lower profile tyres and standard suspension is more comfortable than sport suspension.

I went from a 2015 V70 which I found had very comfortable seats to a 2019 Inscription that had in my view the most uncomfortable seats I've sat in for many years.
The two things that made them far more comfortable was to stop messing with the seat extender, have it all the way back and forget about it. And to put 50000 miles on the clock. Since it went past 50k, the seats are far softer and actually comfortable... |
