I would say yes it does look like it's twisted. Just took a few pics of my wiper arm there now. Holding the phone near the window made it look like it was twisted, but it wasn't as bad looking as yours.

No it's not bent, and word of warning DO NOT TRY AND STRAIGHTEN!!
I broke mine doing so lol.

It's just the linkage assembly causing the issue

You can tell if it's the linkage bush by grabbing hold of the base of the arm where it screws on and jiggling hard. Any movement is knackered bush.

Replacement on the bush cannot be done right? Replacement linkage replacement isn't it.

Looking at the bush it looks like it couldn't be replaced without damaging the linkage/mount and new bush. Replacement linkage is needed.

I read on an American site about replacing the bush by pushing a section of Delrin tube (or similar polymer type plastic) into the sleeve. You'd need to find the right size and somewhere that was willing to sell you 2cm of it though . I had a quick look for it but decided it was easier and cheaper to buy a linkage assembly off eBay, I had a result and got one for £15, with motor too.

You got a good deal there Alex. Forgot about the delrin repair, but even then it looks like a fiddly job. If you're getting 8-10 years out of the wiper linkage I think that's not bad. One or maybe 2 replacements in the cars lifetime is ok given the small cost of second hand units.

Yes agree. We'll be doing the Delrin repair in five years time when all the second hand linkages are worn out , we can look at a bulk buy of tubing then.
