Tightening front strut top mount
The front strut top mount on my car seems to have worked loose (second time since the mount was replaced). First time a garage tightened it for free, this time I am going to do the job myself and have a couple of questions.
Can I do the job with raising the car off the ground and are there any tips to make the job easier? Thank you Janie |

You mean the bolt in the middle or the smaller 3 ones. If it's the one in the middle use a windy gun, shouldn't be coming loose once it's down should stay down you sure they haven't striped the thread and not told you .
Take the strut out and have a good look as it's a safety thing if they haven't done the job properly or stripped the thread. Brakes and suspension are the two most important things on a car. Last edited by kieran40; Apr 26th, 2015 at 19:52. |
