Default XC60 Emergency puncture repair kit (TMK)

Does anyone know if the emergency puncture repair kit includes a jack and wheel nut brace? I would guess not but i might be wrong.

I am swapping my old XC60 for a new one and want to keep the old spare wheel and tyre. I wonder if i need to keep the tools too.

Thanks.

I have no spare wheel, just the puncture repair kit with no jack or brace.

You will need to keep yours and put them in your boot when you get your new XC60.

New XC60 is whole new platform. Are you sure the spare will fit? Same stud pattern? Offset? Rolling circumference?

Thought of doing this myself but ordered car with spare wheel, just as well I did because the new spare wheel is considerably larger than the one I had in my old XC60.

I asked the dealer before parting with my old XC60 and he assured me that nothing would be suitable to use in the new car. I should start afresh with space saver and tools.

I had a Tempa spare wheel in my old XC60 (a MY17 model) and my Dealer suggested that I could put it in my new model if I wanted to, but I decided not to in the end.

I don’t understand why the spare wheel would be bigger in the new model as the base wheel size is exactly the same - 235/60/18 going up to 20 inch wheels as on the old model. What size is the tyre/wheel combination for the spare on the new model?

I have read in previous threads on here how small the spare wheel appears for those models with the 20 inch wheels.

Just checked it, it’s a 125 80R 18, sure my old on on my 2012 XC60 was a 16 inch one, I know when I used it to move tyres around it looked bloody stupid.
Edit just found out old one was 125 80 R 17, so yes they upped the size.

I'm fairly sure the wheel offset is different on SPA based Volvos (new XC90, XC60, etc) compared to older models. This is certainly true for the old versus new XC90 and as such the wheels would be incompatible.

Thanks for all the info Guys. Looks like my "cunning plan" won't work then as the tyre size has changed.

So now the decision is to stay with just the emergency kit or buy the appropriate spare wheel and tools for the new XC60.

Anyone have a view on this? Is the emergency kit good enough?

Emergency kit is rubbish... if you get a cut or hole in the sidewall then youre stuffed.
