My Linda happens to like books written by Dulce Carman. These typically sell for between £5 and £10 on the Bay of E. Only yesterday, we received a notification regarding one that she does not presently have for £4.17 (a conversion from the 5USD starting price).

A veritable bargain one might think, until you read that that is plus shipping at £18.96, plus an unspecified amount in import duties and taxes. I could envisage that five pound book costing the thick end of fifty quid by the time we were done!

No it's because the seller is a ****. All his crap is overpriced.

You can select express delivery on another of his listings for £78.43, so standard postage is about £60? I purchased similar weight car parts from the US and that was only about £25 postage.

Weirdly he's based in the US but only ships to the UK.
