Default removing washer jets

Hi

I have a S80 2.4d auto Sept 2009 registered
The problem is the drivers side windscreen washer, when I put the washers on the passenger side jet sprays the water onto the windscreen no problem, but the drivers side the water dribbles out of the jet, not even making the water onto the windscreen. I have headlight washers which work ok, I have electrical wiring to the jets so I assume they are heated. Anyone can help me me advice on removal of the jets etc. I can find loads of info on S80 upto 2006 but not on models after. Also advice any clearing the jets
Any replies will be much appreciated.

Tony

Pull the rubber hose off the jet.
Disconnect the wiring.
Remove the rubber bung in the underside of the bonnet.
There is a tab you need to press in to remove the jet from the underside.

On the later models, those with a horizontal slot rather than a pin hole, there is a simple non return valve in a right angle elbow, immediately below the washer jet. You need to pull this elbow off the washer jet than blow back through the slot with an airline. You can use a jet of water from a garden hose but prepare to get soaked!

If the jets are heated, there will be an electrical connector!!

I've got a couple of heated ones available that I could ship to you if you want them (if it turns out that the nozzle itself is the problem). I don't think that shipping would be too cost prohibitive from Canada (at least relative to the cost of the heated nozzles!!!). Let me know.

I had a similar issue happening with mine. I changed the nozzles, no difference, I changed the check valve, still no difference. I finally decided to follow the routing of the tubing to the side of the hood and noticed that the tubing was being pinched by the hinge of the hood every time it closed so that pressure was not sufficient to spray strongly from both nozzles. The squeezing had also cut a small notch in the tubing so I was losing a pile of fluid also.

If the jets are blocked with calcium try soaking in vinegar over night , after removing them of course !

Well i've managed to get the washer jsts off the vehicle without breaking anything, now soaking the jet in vinegar as suggested, someone else suggested I use steradent, but i've stuck with plain vinegar, I'll see how it goes

In my case it was the 'L' shaped connector between the nozzle and the hose. Blew it out with compressed air and now it works fine. Lucky I didn't have to remove the nozzle as I have a talent for breaking plastic tabs holding things in place
