Definitely a leak from somewhere, not excessive because I can't see anything dripping. As we know, a little fluid goes a long way. Far too wet and windy today to have a proper poke around but there's no oil or coolant being used, it doesn't smell of petrol, so I guess it must be PAS (brake master cylinder level also fine).

Also worth checking your diff and gearbox for any leaks, fairly sure Luke didn't check those over when he did your engine as they were allegedly ok but could have sprung a leak since. Also they may have looked ok if he did look at them but because the seals weren't getting oil splashed on them during normal use, may have dried out and started leaking.
Brake fluid tends to absorb water so doesn't usually give the dead rainbow effect so it's down to the previously discussed suspects i think. :thumbs-up:

Checked the PAS fluid level and it's about 5mm lower than the max mark on the dipstick. Will keep an eye on it. What do I need to use as top-up? Steering type is "Cam-gear" according to the product plate

Hi Kiloran,
Mine is '94 Wentworth 2.0 Turbo so don't know if it's same as yours, just popped out to check handbook, not very helpful just says quality ATF. Photo hopefully from handbook attached When I bought mine around 6 weeks ago, steering was a bit stiff, so I bought Mobil ATF 220 Premium, not used any, as reservoir was on max with clean fluid. Hope that helps, |

Minimum of Dexron II-D but i would use Carlube ATF-U or NAPA MVA fully synthetic for the PAS.

I’ve always just used the stuff that’s sold as PAS fluid, usually pink/red like ATF but perhaps a touch thinner. Should I swap this out for proper ATF?

Quote:
Top up if needs be then repeat a week later. Usually doing this 3-4 times will change the fluid completely, then once a year empty again with the syringe and top up, bleed/top up and all good for another year until it starts getting dirtier after a year then do the 3-4 times jobby again.
