Default Dension 500 gateway and BT1500 can't get Bluetooth to wrk

Hi
I just bought 2005 executive with Dension 500 plus Bluetooth BT1500 already installed by owner just Friday
Since sat morning I can't get the Bluetooth to wrk
My iPhone settings are fine
It just keeps saying Dension BT is either out of range or not on
Neither of which are correct
CD5 now doesn't seem to have track 2 where the BT seemed to be
I've tried reset of the unit - located in the glovebox - as well as tried to upgrade to new firmware - all suggested by prev owner BUT still nothing
I bought this over my budget as needed a Bluetooth to use my phone and didn't want hassle of having to have it installed as I'm so busy all the time
V frustrating that I just can't get it to wrk
In fairness to prev owner it seemed to wrk when he tried it but even then the other person could barely hear me and I thought this was something I could sort out re mic later
Any any ideas welcome !
