Ordered mine in April delivered end of October, but made in Sweden.
Pretty sure XC60 is Belgium or Sweden so 7 months seems about right

I heard that the Recharge XC60's were made in China?

You are correct, up until the switch from MY22.5 to MY23 early, the XC60 Recharge cars were built in europe (mine was built in Sweden) but shortly afterwards, all production of XC60 Recharge moved to China in the new Volvo/Geely production facility closer to the battery manufacturing.

XC90 Recharge T8 Ultimate
Order date 14/11 given estimated delivery date of 31/3/23. From what I’ve read in this forum that delivery date is ‘pie in the sky’ thinking.
I’ve got a couple of questions from what I’ve read. Seems like some of you have negotiated extended service agreements due to delays-is that sometime you discussed with your dealer as delivery dates were pushed back? Also some of you seem to get regular updates from your dealership-how did you set that up? I’m also intrigued by some of you changing your spec. Is that allowed up to a certain point for example the build date? Apologies for all the questions. I had assumed I would drive used cars for all of my life and this first foray into a new vehicle has left me with far more questions than answers! If there’s any other advice I would definitely take it on board. Thanks for any help offered (the old 2005 XC90 treated us very well for more than a decade-hoping this new one will last us at least two decades). Peace. |

Due to the complexity of the hybrid drivetrain and the cost of replacing thing on modern vehicles, I would only keep one for as long as I have a comprehensive warranty on it. I will be extending the Volvo warranty on mine should I be keeping it beyond the 3 year point. The true long term costs for the newer Extended Range Recharge vehicles has yet to be established, the older style ERAD cost £3-5K to either rebuild or replace. I have yet to hear of any new ERAD's failing but as they have a much more powerful electric motor and likely more upgrades over the old one, they will likely cost significatly more when they inevitably require attention not to mention all the other known and potential, as yet, unknown issues (electric Auxiliary heaters, continual Operating system glitches for some of the more unlucky owners requiring software updates to cure and occasional engine failures, again only the very unlucky few have experienced those). With all the above said, I love my car and currently would not want to change it for anything else. To get a similar performing vehicle from another manufacturer, I would have to be spending at least £25-35K more (Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid) but without getting a great deal more car wise except maybe some peoples badge judgement. All I'm saying is enjoy the car when you eventually get it but don't go expecting it to keep on trucking like more conventional drivetrains would do. In this era of Electrification and software driven operating systems, nothing is a given quantity.

Definitely appreciate the thoughts. Brave or optimistic, I’m with you knowing that I’ll love the new car and eventually when it has rolled through the miles we will do what is prudent as we had to do with our old one.
