Amazon flywheel cover

I am assembling another amazon and the lower alloy cover plate which bolts under the back of the sump and protects the lower ring gear is not the right type as it wont fit . Is there more than one type please ?

It has two part numbers in my parts manual, 419314 and 463830. Both part numbers list as fitting red blocks from push rods right up to the last of the SOHC in the 940 series. My 140 parts manual says that it is the same part for the B18 and the B20 with manual transmissions so that would appear to cover the B18 back to 1966. If your engine pre dates 1966 you would need to consult an early parts manual to confirm fitment.

My parts manual has confusing references to the BW 35. The manual sort of implies that 419314 is for the M40 and M41; but, is not explicit about what is used for the BW35. Any chance you got a BW35 part?

Yes there are two styles I'm aware of...

142guy link is for the cast cover for B20 which also serves to tie engine and Bellhousing together more solidly as a torque link. The earlier B18 only had a simple formed sheetmetal cover strictly secured to Bellhousing, and not secured to the engine...I'm sure you could find it pictured on gcp.se exploded assembly diagrams.
