Brake Fluid; DOT 4 or DOT 3?
Title says it all, really. I can't find out what sort of brake fluid my 142E Needs. The reservoir and manuals all say SAE70R3, but I haven't managed to find out if I can use DOT 3 or DOT 4 instead. Some places I've read say that one should NEVER use DOT 3 with Girling Calipers, but others say the exact opposite.
I'm stumped guys, can you help me out? |

Dot 3 is pretty old school now. Go for Dot 4 and you'll be fine. I use Dot 5 Silicone fluid, expensive but once in all finished for good. You'll need to change all the seals if you go that way though.

Well, what I was told is that DOT 3 would eat the seals...which is work I really wouldn't want to do right now.
