Smile Battery replacement

I have a feeling that I may need to change my battery soon on my 2015 XC60 R Design D5 as when I park up and turn off the engine I get a message saying battery low. No matter how long of a journey I go on to try and charge up the battery I get that same message again a couple days later. It starts up every time without a problem.
Does the battery need coding in after it gets replaced?
I want to know whether I can just change the battery myself or I need to take it to my local specialist.

Firstly the battery needs charging with a decent charger for as long as possible , 48 hours if you can , don't write it off yet .. they are getting sulphated not being used so much . Volvo recommend they are charged every 2 weeks in these conditions . driving the car is a very inefficient way of charging the battery on a modern car ..

You might want to try a charger first.

Plenty of recent threads on here about this issue, eg
