Just in case anyone is interested, there is a team of three 144's doing the 1500 mile trial starting 1st December from Lands End and hoping to reach John O Groats in the morning of the 4th.

Well, we cracked it. Team Volvo won the marque team trophy with all three of us finishing at John O Groats early on Tuesday morning. 1400 miles and the only mechanical problem of note this trip was a radiator coming adrift in a deep ford and ramming itself into the engine fan. As it turned out, we were the only team to get three cars to the finish, the MG's, Minis and Triumphs all losing cars along the way.
Excellent cars and excellent fun! |

As snowman has said we won the team prize. Anyone out there got any pictures. I am Looking for photos of "The Red Brick" going through a long stretch of flooded roads near Smeatharpe, Devon around 2pm ish, Sat 1 Dec. Looking for photo's to try and explain why our fan came off and wrecked the radiator and nearly our rally. Engineering theory is that water built up between block and fan which forced the interference fit fan to be dislodged. Snowman fortuantely had a spare rad about 30 miles away from where we holed the rad.

This photographer covered it last year - nothing on his site yet for this years event, but maybe they will go up sometime soon if he was there.

GM, thank you for the info. There were a number of photographers out there, but week after the event has finished, as yet have not seen any evidence that they actualy took any pictures!
