CD/Parking Sensor and SatNAv Problem
Hello -
I'm hoping someone could help. I have an 03 XC90 which has an intermittent problem where sometimes when i start the car the CD/Parking Sensor and SatNav won't work and other days it will. My Radio will always work. I've read somewhere about an ICM issue which is big bucks. Has anyone else had this problem, or can offer some advice would be really appreciated. Thanks for reading Andy |

Hello -
I've recently found that if i leave my CD player on when i turn the ignition off it will consistently work when i start the car. would this indicate a CD player issue? any ideas how i can troubleshoot this further? |

Have I posted this in the wrong section? Or had no one come across this problem before?

Sorry that you havent had many replies.
Id suggest getting the car on a VIDA machine and reading the codes. The IC Module is interrogable via VIDA and should give detailed DTCs allowing you to pinpoint the problem.

Hi Andy,
I have the same problem. Started last year around November too. I have just ordered a AUD module that sits under the right-hand front seat, held in by three bolts. Apparently this controls all of the communications from the operating faults we're experiencing. I took my vehicle to a Volvo garage and they advised me that it could take them weeks to find! Not happy with their answer I started surfing the web. Found a gentleman in America with the same problem, he said he fixed the problem by replacing the AUD module. He did say it's worth checking the fibre optic cable which plugs into the module to ensure the signal is coming through (red light flashes) which it did and all good. So I ordered one off eBay and waiting for it to be delivered. Fingers crossed it works. Have you managed to solve your problem? |

I had a few threads myself for a similar problem, when I bought an XC90 for my wife last year, the radio, satnav and PAS stopped working and Volvo ask me nearly £2000 for a full repair. I went to London to meet a great guy (volvodiagnostic.com/) and for £150 he repaired the ICM and reprogrammed it and everything work fine since. I suggest you send him an email and he may be able to help. Pat |
