you most likely have an air lock in the water system. You will need to bleed the system through |

Going to install lpg to my 940
Firstly it great and good news that we will have a LPG section, hopefully it will be able to offer lots of help and advice to those already running or are about to on LPG.
Myself (health & weather permitting) I am going to install LPG on my 1996 940 saloon,I bought a complete used kit off a member who was breaking his 940, but I decided to sell the donut tank in favour of a 70 litre cylinder tank so the spare wheel won't be just laying about in the boot, I intend to fit the tank frame on spacers to allow access to the petrol tank access panel, if ever this is needed it will just be a case of removing the LPG tank, I know a lot of you will say the installation should be done by a specialist, but many years ago I installed a system myself on my Rover 827 Coupe, so I do know how to do it, My tank is a STAKO 70ltr with a Tomasetto multi valve, the reducer is a Tomasetto AT09, I decided to buy new Valtek injectors, I have also purchased a service/repair kit for the reducer, I have purchased a new 90 degree filler, I intend to fit the filler on the l/h rear wing, I have also purchased new copper piping for both the filler and supply pipes, and new hoses for the injectors etc, The wiring that came with the kit is not in the best of health, but this is with Laird Scooby who is overhauling and repairing it has may be required, he is also making me some adaptors for the injectors, to save swopping over the inlet manifold, the one that came with the kit is pre-drilled & has the inlet nozzles already in it (it just saves me some work, Once I start the project I intend to do regular stage by stage post's on it, and once completed hopefully find a professional LPG centre to inspect it and do a final tune/set up, One minor tip for anyone thinking of doing their own installation, do not use ordinary white PTFE tape on pipe fittings, you should use PTFE tape specially for gas joints. That's about all for now, hoping to start it this spring/summer. David. |

Small correction. 99% of the LPG connections should not have any PTFE tape on any of the fittings. The only time PTFE is used is on 4 hole tank fittings and odd special adaptors. Fitting 4 hole tank valves is not really a DIY job |
