Default Volvo XC70 Windshield Washer Sensor Position?

Hello all

I can't seem to locate the information on which way the "washer fluid low" is triggered from the sensor. Is it trigged when sensor is open or closed?

Thank you!

Open as far as I know.

I'm not sure of the exact design on this particular model, but I presume its the same as a newer shape Volvo V40 (you'd have to check).

There's a float attached to the sensor, which pivots with a magnet on the end. When the washer fluid level is high enough, the magnet moves towards a set of contacts on the sensor body to click them together, which closes the circuit. This means you'll get no warning light.

So closed is circuit complete. Open is circuit incomplete, triggering a warning.

None the wiser after looking at the electrical diagram. It does not show NO or NC status (not expert on elec diagram symbols though)

In the diagram I looked at now (TP 39180202) it does show it as closed. Which is in line with what was written above.
