PAM module replacement
Hello.
I've been chasing a problem with parking system and decided to replace with used one , but it shows software error. Both of them have excatly same numbers on cover , does it need to be coded (vin) or is it something else? |

You really need to use VIDA to see what the fault log is reading. Did the fault that you mention come from a VIDA readout? Do you know for sure that the replacement secondhand unit is fully functioning?

And I dont have VIDA. ps. just bought this car - it has translated cluster so someone has coded something. Could it be just bad coding and now it has missmatch software warning ? p.s.s. I did find possible causes Cause: Incorrect software in the Parking Assistance Module (PAM). The vehicle's vehicle configuration file is incorrect. Damaged central electronic module (CEM). If the software on the PAM Module cover is shown the same, maybe it was changed in the old one .. dang Last edited by richiefromlv; Aug 15th, 2024 at 14:09. |

Bought this car already with parking system not working . Guy said I just have to change rear outer right sensor . Replaced sensorand nothing changed. Ive been driving and fixing bmws my whole life so I only had bmw and vag diagnostics. Bought diagnostic for EU cars - showed me problem was rear right inner sensor , replaced outer outer one with inner one , fault remains in inner one. So its not sensors. Then I removed and checked(beeped) whole wiring inside rear bumper. Everything checked out . All good no shorts etc ..
The problem is with inner right sensor - it has 2 faults , even if i disconnect whole harness it shows 4 errors for each sensor and +1 fault about electric fault for inner right one . In my mind there are 2 places to look for problem , 2nd harness from bumper harness to module itself or module beeing faulty. |

Checked wiring everything checks out . Must be module itself ..
Can someone provide schematics for PAM module ? Still general electric fault. |
