Default A/C Doing My Head In...

So, THIS THREAD has my trials/tribulations and today

1. We had the correct relay added
2. We fixed the broken feed to the pump
3. Cleared fault codes
4. It worked on startup
5. But then stops after about a minute

It's the same symptom as a faulty/worn clutch, which is where I started a few years back and Kev067 possibly identified the issue of lacking shims BUT any other reason why this might happen?

Have you got a set of manifold gauges you can pop on it to see what it’s actually doing before it cuts out?

Garage has. He's great but an independent, so wanting to try and ask the collective so that we can focus on likely causes

I take it he’s happy with the gas amount and can see the new compressor is actually building pressure within the system? When you fitted the compressor how much oil and gas was added?

You could manually engage the compressor for test purposes to see if it actually functions as it should with it been a recon unit.

Further than that you may need vida to monitor the live data for the AC system to see if this can guide you or if there are any AC related faults.

So, it's not the shims as we were able to take the relay out and short it (temporarily) so that the power was being sent to the pump. It stayed on until we took the breach out. At the same time engine revs stayed high as it was expecting the pump to be on. Proven by turning the heat up so CCM said no reason for A/C to be on anymore and told the engine to lower revs.

It looks as if there's a possibly a wiring issue between the Climate Control Module (which is not showing faults) and the relay. For whatever reason the demand command from the CCM is not reaching the relay to enable it to fire.

After that determination, took it on a long drive to Birmingham and back, which had DC and M/Ways. Amazingly, a/c sometimes kicked in and boy was it cold but it wasn't too consistent.
I did hear a rumble on the way back but then I was onto A's and B's and I didn't notice it again.
Next day, went to Devon for the weekend and a/c did not kick in at all!! Not did it all w/end and the return drive, leaving at 28 degrees...
I put 2+2 together and looked at a/c pump and clutch mech has gone again! It appears that the thread that holds it on has sheered and that was the rumbling noise!
Waiting on a new recon unit to be delivered

OK! Still ongoing!!

Got and fitted a new a/c compressor, so on demand, it works. Problem is that there's no demand...

Option is the Climate Control Module (CCM) and maybe a dodgy wire from there but looking into it, it appears that the CCM is "controlled" by the Engine Management System - it takes inputs from various places.

Knowing that allows you to look at the live/faults on that ECU, which in turn has provided either the Air Quality Sensor or a Recirculation Damper Motor faults. We're looking at the AQS first, with a used part arriving soon (new parts are foofing dear!).

Will update as/when...

Mine stopped working because there was junk being broadcast on the LIN Bus by the Passenger heated seat module. VIDA will show if there's a LIN bus problem, but not necessarily what's causing it
