Rear DLR’s on 2023 XC90
Had my XC for a short while now, and given Volvo’s reputation for safety I was surprised to find the DLR’s are only on the front. I seem to think I have seen XC90’s just a year or two older ( so not the old model) which have had them on.
Is this a regional setting that a dealer or someone with the right plug in box via ODB can change. Al

What position is your light switch in ?
What should happen and it's in the MY23 Late on line manual is in position 'off' just front DRL, but in 'auto' and enough light to not need headlamps, front and rear should be on. |

I just leave my light switch in the ‘on’ setting. Headlights on, front and rear DRLS, it usually stays in auto for adaptive headlights but sometimes this turns off, but headlights are always on

Mine is on 0, and I read the manual about being in auto then putting on DLR’s but read that as the front. I will try it on auto tomorrow in the daylight and see if the rears stay on.
On my discovery both front and rear were on with the light switch set to off without having to change any settings Al

I believe that it is EU regs that dictate DRLs are only front lighting in the default position (which is light switch off).
If you put it in auto (which Volvo can program to do something different as it is not part of the type approval regs) then you should get front and rear DRLs. I certainly do on my 2016 car. My lights have been left in auto for the last 6 and 3/4 years since I got the car.
