Never seen anything like that before, provided it works safely I may be tempted to install them to my BMW (doesn't have heated mirrors).

Only thing that concerns me is that its directly and permanently connected to a 12V line, without the option of being able to switch it off (as you can do in cars genuinely fitted with heated mirrors). Even though the item is supposed to have overheating protection, I'm still wary.

You can always add a switch into the circuit with a timer relay as well.
That way you turn them on, and they turn off after x minutes...

I have heated mirrors but never seen the point in them. A true gimmick.

Quick squirt of de-icer... 3 second job and done.

Perhaps in the really cold countries, maybe, but in the UK...waste of money.

It may be a possibility, but you would want to check the wiring diagrams for the car..

If you warm the mirror up "slowly" the old pad "should" peel off allowing the new one to be attached, You may have to make a hole for the spades to stick out of the old backing plate.
I managed to remove the glass out of the holder giving full access to the pads.
