Saw my two girls yesterday for the first time in 6 weeks. Val on the left and Kära on the right have been tucked up in the dark since New Year whilst I was off to warmer climates enjoying the sun while everyone back home in Scotland was freezing their bits off...

Val and Kära looking absolutely fabulous, as always, but are in dire need of some Swedish colours/memorabilia amongst the mix? 🤔

Thanks Baffler, the said sunshine not only brings warmth and happiness to the heart and soul, it gives one a certain smugness when they call home only to hear that the weather is abysmal with snow, frost and gales... Finding genuine Volvo memorabilia at sensible prices is a difficult task, no doubt I will happen across something suitable some day.
Today I lifted the bonnet of the 850 for the first time since last September to check the fluid levels and everything was spot on. The engine hasn't been started since 30th September and won't be until I'm taking the car for an MOT Later next month. Bonnet now closed again for another month or so.

A Scottish flag hung behind your fishing gear and a Swedish flag hung over those four rings Or if you could somehow get a Swedish flag reflecting off the windscreens/paintwork

It looks great when illuminated

I had this one for about 11 years, never had a single advisory on the MOT sheet when I sold it. Spare parts prices were eye watering

Funny you should mention that. The same day I test drove the brother-in-laws 4.4 diesel Quatro we had only collected it from being repaired at Audi's head mechanic's house. He had just replaced the NSR shock absorber...€700 lighter in the pocket. Ouch!

I guess its the same with any prestige luxury car though... when they go wrong, they cost a fortune to fix. Even when they get old, the badge is still on the grille so to speak. It might be an old Audi or an old Mercedes, but its still a luxury car!
I watch a channel on YouTube, I can't recall the name at this moment. Basically, the chap buys old luxury cars that have seen better days and he brings them to a garage that specialises in that particular brand of car. The mechanic puts them up on the ramp and starts listing all the things that are wrong. Some of the repair bills just to get the car back to decent condition really are eye watering... sometimes £8,000-£10,000+ Usually, these cars are around 20 years old minimum! Not that I'm implying the Audi shown above is anything like that. It looks like a beautiful car and has clearly been well looked after. Just if things did go wrong, it would be very pricey.
