Volvo s40 bootlip
Hi there guys , I currently have a R Design 2011 s40. As you will know this comes with a spoiler on the tailgate. this is something I want rid of, I have since found another bootlid to buy that doesn't have any added lips or spoilers. However I noticed that some s40s have a smaller lip on the bootlid and I would like to buy one to add to the bootlid I have seen. Where would I find one and is it possible to simply add one on.

Anyway - if you are looking for small-lip spoiler, there is possibility that it may fit on the exactly same mounting holes. Someone may confirm/deny that, but Vida only gives 1 universal "mounting kit" for both spoiler types. That may save you replacing whole boot lid.

The OEM lip spoiler has no mounting holes. It's held on by double sided foam adhesive.
I totally understand the OP's desire. I really don't like shopping trolley spoilers and the lip spoiler is much better looking IMO. The lip spoiler was fitted to the S40 T5 and DRIVe models so if you find a boot lid from one of them in the right colour you're sorted. If not you've two options. You can buy an OEM one from Volvo or you can buy aftermarket ones that look almost identical from eBay (most used to be available from Poland but I see some are available from France at under £30).

This is a great, im actuall after the same thing and always thought the spoiler was held on with screws and didnt want to bother filling in holes. If its just adhesive tape then might get this done sooner than later.

For clarity, the lip spoiler is adhesive tape but the raised spoiler does have bolts as I understand it.
I should also clarify what I'd said above in that the lip spoiler was fitted to S & SE models for T5 and DRIVe. The Sport, SE Sport and R-Design models came with the raised shopping trolley spoiler.

I could take that old R-Design spoiler, if you wanted? I'll take the burden off you.
