V70 awd t6
Hi all,
It won't be until August time that i will be looking but just wanted to get the opinions of the V70 owners of their experiences of the AWD T6 and maybe things to consider/look out for. I am interested in both the SE LUX NAV trim and the R-Design LUX NAV. Wouldn't mind an opinion on either trim level. Thanks to all!

Apparently V70 T6's are very rare. Don't expect to have a lot of choice come August. BlackpoolS60D5 (I think that's his name on here) has a V70 T6, not R-Design but does have Nav IIRC.

There are three on Auto trader at the moment - one SE (ex-polive) and SE LUX and R-design. There are 2 ex-police SE's on ebay but you are right, there aren't many up for grabs.
Might have to buy nearly new from a stealer! I just like the look of the R-design

Adequately powerful, very comfortable but thirsty
I am in Australia and have a MY08 V70 T6 AWD that I have owned since new. (It replaced a MY02 S60 2.4T). The V70 has all of the available bells and whistles and is very comfortable. A few years ago, I posted the following about the V70 on an Australian forum:
"For those interested in real-world fuel economy, I drove my V70 T6 from Melbourne to Port Lincoln and back last week [about 3,000km / 1,800m] at around speed-limit speeds and averaged 9.3 l/100km [30 mpg] (carrying 2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog and a fair load of gear). I don't think thats particularly good or bad, it is what it is. However, the car is supremely comfortable and has ample power for swift-passing the Canadian B-Doubles and double bottom road trains which tend to amble along at around 105 km/h. As is typical of Volvo, the climate control is superb in 40 plus degrees Celsius temperatures. And the Dynaudio sound system is good. Don't believe the nonsense which some journalists seem to peddle about the V70's suspension. It is designed for the real world and, like the rest of the car, excels at what it does. What the V70 T6 is not is a frugal every-day city-commuter car. But why would you buy one to use it for that? I use a MB A180CDI, which is perfect for that task". In 5 years of ownership, I have had no problems with the V70. However, the 18" Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres which came on the car were unimpressive (replaced with Michelins). And its fuel economy around town is seldom better than 15/16l/100km [17-19mpg]. Consequently, most of our city driving has been done in a W169 A-Class and now a W246 B-Class. |
