Default 86 240 GL 2.3 estate

Decided to sell my 1986 240 GL 2.3 Estate.

It has MOT until 14th November 2011, 4 previous owners, the one before me for 15 years. Twin electric towbar. All the electrics work fine: headlamp washers, seat belt warning lights ...and I believe there is also illumination at the seat belt buckle (?). Interior is good and has recently had two replacement front seats with working heaters.

It has Corona alloys which are in fair condition with very good tyres, the spare is steel and has an almost new tyre.

Body is in good condition for a C reg and doesn't have rust in the usual places. The bad places are the interior of the rear windows behind the back seats and the tailgate, but I have a newer style replacement tailgate from a K reg.

The heater fan doesn't blow but the heater is very hot and I have a replacement fan.

The engine has a slightly high mileage at 214k but that is only 8.5k per year (some would say just run in), but is still very powerful and cruises comfortably at 70 mph.

The carb needs tinkering with as it is running rich, yet runs and pulls and starts fine and I have a spare carb. The clutch pedal & push rod needs attention, as there is play and it crunches into reverse sometimes, but does not hinder driving in anyway and only does it every now and then.

I am selling it as I'm moving house to a place where there is no street outside the house, let alone a driveway or garage, so the tinkering I need to do will be impossible, but it is a nice quaint village in North Yorkshire so there is an upside!

PM me if you are interested or email jmz'at'gmx.com

I'll put it on ebay as soon as I work out how to !

For anyone who was interested I took the car off Ebay.

I must say, I hold a lot of admiration for anyone who has sold a car on Ebay without resorting to strong alcohol or sedatives, or both!!
So many bizarre questions !!!
I now understand why so many adverts repeat some things over and over again ....people just do not read what is written !!!!???

So, apologies to anyone who was watching and genuinely interested.

Selling my C class mercedes was an absolute nightmare. Ebay costs a fortune and so many people mess you about. I don't blame you for giving up on it.
Good luck on the sale
