Default Urgent Alarm Question

Hi all,

Both remote controls for the alarm on my 1996 850 T5 appear to have ceased working - I suspect new batteries, though one of them recently (last 5 weeks) was already replaced.

As a result, although I can unlock the car and get in, I cannot disable the alarm, and the car is immobilised, and will not start.

Is there a manual way of disabling the alarm?

Is it normal to got through remote control batteries so quickly?

Any prompt advice much appreciated....

Default RE: Urgent Alarm Question

See <Alarm Remote Control> about 10 posts previous. You can 'Turn off' the alarm, i.e. put it in service mode, but you need a working remote to do so!

Turn ign. on-hold remote button 1 down for about 3 seconds, the indicators should flash twice, and the LED gives a short flash every three seconds.
When the alarm is next activated the system will be re-connected.

Hope this helps
