Default FYI - Set of 4 Polaris's on GumTree

It's the sort of thing one usually keeps to one's self, but i'm flat broke at the moment and wish to pass along the good karma etc, etc.

There appears to be set of 4 badly listed Polaris wheels advertised on Gumtree. Seller is adamant they came off a 740 been painted black.
He has also replied to me today to advise that they are still for sale.
Someones gonna get some sick rims when they're polished up... Oh yeah, he only wants £120 for them....

FIGHT!!!!!

They aren't polaris because original polaris are 17" ane those are only 15“. Those are Brock wheels and most likely 5x110 fitment so they will go on a Volvo but ideally you need wobble bolts.

Ah, I see and shall amend accordingly.
Lightning response there squire, he who snoozes looses.

Also, would 8" wide rims fit on a 240 without rolling arches?

Depends on the offset. I tried 7" galaxies with a 20mm spacer and they caught like buggery.

It's best to roll them because they are massive and you don't want the potential of them catching. The only problem is that a standard arch roller won't do it because they are so thick. They need bending back properly and respraying in for it to be a neat job.

Or cut the lips off but that creates risk of the panels separating and water getting in.

At 8" wide, they're a bit silly I suppose, I didn't see the photo's of the size stamp. Read somewhere that 7.5 is the maximum, don't now how true that is, but want to avoid spacers if possible, I really like the way the 240 tucks it's wheels in.
Lenso do a BBS copy 16" with an ET20 but they're scary expensive with the rubber et al. Guess I'm rockin' the hubcaps until payday 2016...
Your T5 lump of beautiful is an inspiration to us allby the way, thanks for the knowledge!

I wouldn't go that far! Ive just spent a lot of time researching and modifying my own 240, it's all my own work and where I haven't done the work I've had a large input on what was done and why it was done that way. :-)

You are right Vinnieb. If I listed the good advices Antz has given to me I'd run out of both paper and ink.

There are a lot of seriously good wizards in the forum, who have helped me, including Antz.
